Catching Up

Ready for the strangest Thanksgiving food ever? Well you should have come on over to the Papageorgiou's, where I cooked (yes, cooked!) up the following courses for myself, Danny, and my gluten-free, vegetarian mom. (It was actually amazing if you're an odd foodie like myself!)

--Lemon-Herb Tilapia Tapas, Tuscan White Bean Dip, and Sun-dried Tomato and Olive Tapenade

--Black Bean, Corn, and Avocado Quesadillas with Fresh Smoked Chipotle Salsa

--Charcoal-Grilled Shrimp and Farmers’ Market Veggie Kabobs

--Moroccan Lentils, Chickpea Spinach Curry with Gold Potatoes, and Basmati Rice

--Brown Sugar Ham, Garlic and Rosemary Potatoes, Chicken-Infused Stuffing
And for dessert...
--Pumpkin Cremé Brulee and Dulce de Leche Ice Cream
Also, a couple of months ago (wow, I can't believe it's been that long), Danny and I went to Vegas, danced out butts off, almost broke even, and had a blast with family for my brother's 21st birthday! I think we all looked pretty idiotic at one point or another, but what fun!

Danny, Dad, and I dancing it up at midnight of Tristan's birthday!

Strike a pose, darlin'

These guys are totally real...

Also, I had the privilege this fall of being able to go wedding dress shopping with my best friend in Atlanta, who is marrying a naval officer/pilot next year. I've never actually gone wedding dress shopping before (w/the exception of my own dress which I found immediately in the first store) and this is my first bridesmaid experience. (I'm so glad she has impeccable taste!) But you can't be serious all the time...

What I beautiful bride she'll make--I hope she keeps that picture face...

Girls Night In

Maybe next time I'll have the time to write about the present :)

First Post Attempt

Ok, so I'm totally new at this blogging thing but I just got all four wisdom teeth ripped out yesterday, so now's a great time to be a bum, try something new, and wonder "Who on earth is going to read this, anyway?"

(Danny and I with our beautifully carved pumpkins for Halloween. Danny had NEVER carved a pumpkin before!)

So, I'll begin with a recap for family and friends who, perhaps, I haven't talked to in a while. Danny and I are still living in Biloxi, Missisippi and are approaching our 2 year wedding anniversay on the 23rd of this month. I'm super excited about celebrating with a weekend trip to Birmingham, AL to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and just hang out in my old stomping grounds (oh, yes, to return to the young grade school days of Waffle House, cows, and tornadoes. Yee-haw!) In truth, Birmingham's a really cool place...
(The Coast of Biloxi--about 2 miles from my apartment)

Also, we're celebrating our 1 month-ish anniversary of getting a new puppy, Melaine. We call her Laney, for short. And she's not actually a puppy, but a 2 1/2 year old mommy terrier who we adopted from the Humane Society. Unfortunately, we do not have the space in our apartment or perhaps we would have adopted one of her two puppies that was also in there. She's the cutest, sweetest, most lovable pup I've ever met (not that I'm biased or anything) and has just brought so much joy to our lives!

Now, that I've given you all the Reader's Digest version of my life (I could have mentioned work, but that's borrrring to write about, so I spared you), I'll just close with a Merry Christmas to everyone. We're looking for having a holiday just to ourselves this year, but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Especially my Phoenix people! Cousins, aunts, whomever...I'd love to see you (without having to sit around a brunch table across near a sick Emilie...sorry about that again cousins...I still feel terribly about it!)
